Cwm Rhondda Lodge & Its Connections Within The Community.

Cwm Rhondda Lodge has always emphasised its strong ties to the community through its charitable works, here are some of most recent contributions.

Valley Veterans

Cwm Rhondda Lodge Valley Veterans

Cwm Rhondda Lodge, Mark and Chapter are very proud indeed to announce a charitable donation of £700 to Valley Veterans.

Valley Veterans supports former Veterans, the serving Forces Community and families in the Rhondda and across South Wales. The organisation collaborates with MIND Mental Health Charity and NHS Veterans Wales and NHS Primary Care Services to provide mental and physical well-being support to those in need.

 The organisation based in Ton Pentre, Rhondda, provides a daily equine therapy service and twice-weekly Breakfast Club/Support Group offering music therapy and a social gathering to provide health and well-being support. In addition. it provides services to assist with financial issues and help combat social isolation and loneliness.

 Valley Veterans is now recognised as one of the top four Veterans’ organisations in Wales and is championed as being the blueprint for Veterans’ support groups across the country. Its success is such that it is now the subject of an upcoming BBC documentary.

 Cwm Rhondda Freemason Lyn Williams, presenting the cheque, stated that ‘We at Cwm Rhondda are proud to honour and help Valley Veterans in their mission to support veterans and their families to thank them for their sacrifice and service’. The cheque was received by Nigel Locke the Secretary of Valley Veterans and a member of Cwm Rhondda Lodge and Paul Bromwell who was recently awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to veterans and vulnerable people.

Little Ferns

Cwm Rhondda Little Fern

Cwm Rhondda Lodge, Mark and Chapter have made a generous donation to Little Ferns Nursery, helping to enhance early childhood education and create a more enriching environment for local children.

The donation of £500  will directly support the nursery’s mission to provide high-quality care and learning experiences for local children.

"We’re very grateful for this support," said Rhiannon Fisher, the Leader of Little Ferns Nursery Cwmparc, attached to Cwmparc Primary school, ‘ We care for Flying Start children aged 2-3 years old, aiming to give these children from deprived areas the same opportunity and start in life as others."This donation allows us to help pay for an end of year trip to Catref Farm Brecon on the 11th July 2025 for17 children, 16 parents and 5 staff, in an opportunity that will spark creativity, curiosity, and joy in our children’s daily lives."

This donation presented by Cwm Rhondda Freemason Ray Hanney, who has long supported local initiatives, shared: "We believe every child deserves a bright start. Supporting little Ferns is a way to invest in the future of our community."

Tip Tops

Dance Group

Cwm Rhondda Lodge Tip Top

In a powerful demonstration of community commitment, Cwm Rhondda Lodge, Mark and Chapter are proud to announce a joint donation of £500 to Tip Tops Dance  Group based in Treorchy.

Tip-Top’s Dance aim to provide opportunities for youngsters in the Treorchy area to experience fun and positive dance experiences for children aged 3+. 

Tip Tops Dance expressed gratitude for the generous donation with parent representative Jodie Way (pictured with her daughter Fearne Jones) saying ‘With your generous support, we will continue to be able to fund’.
